Law Enforcement Training Specialists has been in operation since 1985, and is an organization that specializes in training full time Correctional and Law Enforcement K9 Officers from, Federal, State, City and County, departments in the United States and Internationally. The organization changed its name to L.E.T.S. International, Inc. and was re-incorporated in September 2000. L.E.T.S. International, Inc. is a federally registered 501(c)(3) "not for profit" organization. No L.E.T.S. instructor is paid a salary, simply per-diem and travel expenses. All of their time is volunteered, and they are proud to stand behind those they work with.
L.E.T.S. is an educational organization first, and provides certifications as a "byproduct" of our educational and training programs. As a result you will find the L.E.T.S. certifications tend to mean more that some certifications, that can be obtained in as little as 3 to 12 minutes. One of our "associates" coined a phrase that we feel is representative of the reaction most have to our certification program:
"L.E.T.S. CERTIFICATIONS ARE NOT FOR THE
UNPREPARED"
All L.E.T.S. instructors have experience as a K-9 handler, instructor, and trainer. They must also complete the L.E.T.S. Instructor's Course. Our Board of Regents consists of veteran law enforcement officers and select organizations that have spent many years working with K-9's and helping others to establish themselves as reliable teams.
The seminars for Law Enforcement and Correctional K-9 Officers are Narcotics, Tracking, Land and Water Cadaver Recovery, Patrol, and Explosives.
L.E.T.S. also conducts seminars for "select," volunteer organizations.
